Right Lux J Ch Red River Ankaranski (1994-1996), owned by Willy Duynekerke (v.d. Westerhuy) and Yvonne Hill-Decoster (Vicary's) was No. 3 Irish Setter Dog in Holland before his untimely death.
Right Slo Ch Red Ruby Ankaranska owned by Mrs Tatjana Klinar was Top Irish Setter In Slovenia for 1986. She won R.CAC at the World Show in 1996 and CAC at the Eurodog in 1999 and was Croatian Club Champion in 1996. She is a Group Winner. Ruby produced two excellent litter for her owner and will be campaigned for her Int. Ch. title in 2000 so watch out.
Right kennels latest top winner is Talitha Ankaranska (BIS, Wd J Ch Scandal v.d. Westerhuy ex Multi Ch Vicary's Pumpkin) co-owned by Mrs Tatjana Klinar. Tally won a group at 16 months old when this picture was also taken. In 1999 she has been very succesful at shows and has also won 2nd prize at a difficult Autumn Pointing & Retrieving trial. She has just been mated to Vicary's Xantalen (Ch Vicary's Powerfield ex Red Rosy Ankaranska). Puppies are due end of January. This litter will be closely line-bred to the beautiful Multi Ch Handy Hunt v. Huize Comtessa.
Tiffany Ankaranska at 2 years old. She is owned by Thomas Hövener ("Yesterday's Hero") and Alenka Pokorn ("M'Eudail") and lives in Germany. She has only attended a few shows so far, but was well placed with several Reserve VDH tickets.
Thumbelina Ankaranska is pictured here at 5 months old. She is owned by Mr Bern Kleine in Germany, kennel "v. Füllenfeld". Not shown much she managed to win Junior Class at the Irish Setter Club of Germany show in 1998. At this moment she has a litter of 11 puppies sired by X-Mr Marlow of the Hunter's Home (Tarodene Thaddeus ex Living Highland Forget-Me-Not).
Show Results and Breeding Plans
We started with German Shephards and than English Cockers. In 1987 the first Irish Setter joined the family. We mostly breed English Cockers, but are better known internationaly for our beautiful Irish Setters. All the dogs in this kennel are FT qualified. We have exported puppies to Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and Holland.
We have been a leading breeder of Irish Setters in Slovenia in the 1990's. Our first bitch Multi Ch Rusty (bred by Miss Alenka Pokorn) put us on the map with her consistent show wins and two lovely litters. Unfortunately Rusty left us in 1997. Her beautiful son Multi Ch Lui Ankaranski scored our first major win with a R.BIS at the Ljubljana International in 1994. Multi Ch Vicary's Pumpkin finished quietly alongside Lui and crowned her career by qualifying for the 1st FCI World Champion of Champions Show in 1997 as representative of Slovenia. She managed to produce two litters in between and her children and grandchildren found their way into some of the leading European kennels. You can have a look at Pam's granddaughter Tara Gentility v.d. Westerhuy, grandson Vicary's Xantalen, her halfbrother Vicary's Soloist. Slo & Hr Ch Red Renny Ankaranska has 3 BIG wins to her credit including Champion of Champions contest in 1998. Talitha Ankaranska is co-owned by Mrs Tatjana Klinar and is also a Group winner.
A litter is hoped for in spring 2000 from Multi Ch Red Renny Ankaranska by the beautiful Romarne Rialto (Sh Ch Konakakela Zagar by Romarne ex Sh Ch Delsanto Romarna) owned by Gloriana Danze of Napoli, Italy. Enquieries welcome.
